Technology in Teaching
We are all aware of the fact that teachers use technology in different ways in the classroom. Often, studies show, teachers hastily prepare a 5 slide powerpoint, with each slide simply displaying notes that could have been written on the board; these same teachers then proclaim to their administrators that they "use technology in their classroom." Blogging can stimulate interest in your topic, and there are many ways to use it in your classroom. The key is being creative, and thinking of ways to allow technology to motivate your students and spark their interests!!!

Using the Internet as a Teaching Tool
Web!
Huh!
What is it good for?
...
Porn?
No, the Internet is not for porn as the popular musical Avenue Q would claim. Teaching is the correct answer. A tool for bringing social networking, teaching, learning, and Web 2.0 together, the Internet can enrich and reinforce your teaching.
Meet your students on their level. Use their tools. PowerPoint is so 20th century. You think the telephone is the only link you have with your students outside of the classroom?
I encourage you to have a cohort blog and to use it throughout the year. It's a great way to create an ongoing conversation with whomever and a great way to become familiar with something your students already know a lot about.
